Bigfoot Raises a Stink in NC

Just in case you thought Bigfoot sightings were a thing of the past, think again!

Ol' Sasquatch got caught on camera by a man traveling a local road. The man claims Bigfoot smelled like something "between road kill and skunk."

Course, debunkers are already claiming it's a false. They primarily say that the movements are too human-like and not ape-like enough. View yourself to form your opinion.

One legend has it that the people of mythological (???) Atlantis created the Sasquatch with their advanced science. The first reported sighting we know of was by a man in Canada in 1811. No carcases have ever been found, though some questionably large footprints discovered over the years have led many to believe Bigfoot is a fact and not fiction.

Sammy Hagar: Alien Abductee?

Welcome to Weird News Wednesday. This week's topic of speculation is Sammy Hagar's announcement that he was abducted by aliens--the details can be found in his new book:

Let me inform those of you who are not well-versed in classic rock, Sammy Hagar is mostly well-known for being the 2nd lead singer of the group Van Halen. He's a Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer, and he also has the nickname "The Red Rocker." Right now he's making music with the supergroup Chickenfoot.

But back to the alien thing...

In his new book, Hagar discusses how when he was only four years old, he saw what he thought to be "a car with no wheels...floating across a field." He now believes it was really a UFO.

Later experiences of his include being "plugged in" to actual aliens from other planets, as well as seeing another ship and two creatures (though he couldn't see their faces).

"They were connected to me," he says, "tapped into my mind through some kind of mysterious wireless connection...They were tapped into my brain and the knowledge was transferred back and forth."

To those of you who may have your doubts, he insists it "friggin' happened."

The book was ironically released on March 20, which I just learned is "Alien Abduction Day." Coincidence? Naaaah. Hagar knew what he was doing.

More Massive Amounts of Dead Fish

This week, dead fish washed up early Tuesday morning on Redondo Beach in California--hundreds of thousands of them.

Scientists are saying the deaths happened due to oxygen deprivation when they were driven into a pier area by a storm.

I can't help but think of the smell. Whew! Nasty!

And although officials figure they know the reason why this particular group of animals bit the dust, I still can't help but remember the strange story of all the birds that fell dead from the sky this past January. Strange times we live in...

Fireworks and power lines were among the explanations for the birds, but it's still creepy as heck. I kind of like to wonder if they all ran into a cloaked mothership or something. Hmm...

But the real question is, what will show up next? Personally, I'm really hoping it'll be the world's entire population of cockroaches. Especially the big ones. You know, the mutated kind that occasionally pop up in the garage or the kitchen and you almost can't believe what you're seeing because they're so freakin' huge, and you end up using your entire can of Raid on them just to be safe?

**Ahem** Yeah, let's hope the cockroaches are next.

Romantic Zombies?

Hello Everyone! And welcome to Weird News Wednesday!

This week, the spotlight is on the upcoming movie Warm Bodies. Apparently this flick is going to be some sort of horror romance (odd combination, huh?), but it doesn't revolve around vampires or werewolves, both of which have been dominating the paranormal romance scene lately (e.g. Edward and Jacob).

Noooo, this movie is about a zombie with emotions, a zombie who actually falls in love with a girl and sets out to save her from being eaten by his reanimated corpse buddies.

The actor set to star in Warm Bodies as the zombie hero is Nicholas Hoult. Some of you may know him from the movie About A Boy, where he plays the adorable little character Marcus. Well, he's not little anymore, but rather all grown-up if you ask me.

Such big pretty Anime-boy eyes he has! Pity he's going to have to get all gunked up for the movie--then again, Hollywood may find a way to keep him sexy...though the idea of rotting flesh doesn't exactly turn me on.

But what I'm wondering is...if he's playing a zombie in love...and zombies typically have a hard time with their body parts decomposing...are we in for one hell of a disgusting love scene? Or is this romance going to be more of the soul-mate love kind without any sex?

I honestly don't know which I'd prefer, but I have to say if there is going to be a naughty romp, I'm far too curious not to watch.

Do you think this "genre" has a chance at taking off? I guess we'll see soon enough.

By the way, Warm Bodies is reportedly an adaptation of an unreleased short story by author Isaac Marion: "I Am a Zombie Filled with Love."
